Filmmaker and Director
Young June is a first-generation Korean-American filmmaker and Harvard graduate whose stories are deeply rooted in his experiences with his family and his cultural heritage. As a caregiver to a dad with Parkinson’s disease and a brother with autism, he is inspired by the resilience of people facing extraordinary circumstances.
Winner of the Shore Scripts Grand Prize and a Harvardwood AAPI fellow, he has shown work at LAAPFF and NFFTY. His writing has been nominated for the Humanitas Prize and was a semi-finalist for the Carol Mendelsohn Drama award.
Currently based in Seoul and Los Angeles, he is developing a variety of projects that focus on themes of faith, sacrifice, and connection.
